Self-aligning ball bearings are bearings equipped with steel balls and cage components between the inner ring of two raceways and the outer ring of a spherical raceway. Self-aligning ball bearing has two kinds of structure, cylindrical hole and tapered hole, cage material is steel plate, synthetic resin, second process plastic and so on. Self- aligning ball bearings can increase the sealing structure of deep groove ball bearings, but it will affect the aligning property of bearings to a certain extent.
Self-aligning ball bearing mainly to support radial load, while can withstand small fear of axial load, generally can not withstand pure radial load, self-aligning ball bearing due to structural reasons, its limiting speed is relatively low. Because the center of curvature of the raceway surface of the outer ring is consistent with the center of the bearing, it has the function of adjusting the angle, which can compensate for the error caused by the uncentering degree and the burning of the shaft and the housing, but the relative inclination of the inner ring shall not exceed 3 degrees.
